Welcome
aboard the Headhunter, a Carolina Skiff 198DLX, with Captain David Baxley as your group's personal fishing guide. We offer
inshore charters, meaning that the Captain stays on the soundside of Topsail Island, between
New River Inlet and Topsail Inlet... no deep sea fishing here! You will be in the Intracoastal Waterway, tide marshes, creeks,
and canals. In the morning, Capt. Dave guides you up a few creeks to throw the cast net for the day's bait. Then we are off
to go find the fish! You never know what you might catch... Redfish, Flouder, Trout, Blues,
Cobia, Sharks, Stingrays and Skates, Spanish Mackeral, Black Sea Bass...
Take home memories from
your Topsail Island vacation! Sure you can lay on the beach, work on your tan, and take back some sand. OR you could take
home pictures and memories of catching some nice fish, enjoy a full belly from the day's
catch, and have a great outdoor experience on the backwaters of Topsail Island with your whole family! Nature lovers will truly appreciate
the wide variety of marine life that is abundant here on beautiful Topsail Island. While on your charter
you will learn a little piece of the local history, viewing some historic sites from the Civil War and World
War II era. You will enjoy the tales of the legendary Blackbeard when he frequented the island. Movie buffs
will be interested to see some set locations for movies filmed locally. There are many photo opportunities
on this charter, you might see dolphins, sea turtles, or maybe even the occasional manatee.
All
charters typically meet at the boat ramp at Soundside Park in Surf City. We can also make arrangements to
pick you up at your waterfront vacation home! All fishing licenses, rods, reels, bait, and
tackle are provided. There are canned drinks and water, snack crackers, sunblock, and bug spray on the boat
for your use as well. Bring any special items you may need for a day trip. Just bring a camera, hat, sunglasses,
and yourself...we'll add the water and fun! Experienced Anglers or Beginners are welcome... We cater to all anglers and
skill levels, as well as parties of more than 6, ask for details!
